Michael Carrick was appointed as Manchester United's interim manager in early January, and since returning to the club, he has lost only one game in charge of the club. His first match as interim manager was against Manchester City, and the Red Devils won 2-0.

The following week, United travelled to the Emirates Stadium, where they defeated the league leaders Arsenal 3-2. Since Carrick took the helm at Old Trafford, Manchester United have looked like a different team to the one Ruben Amorim oversaw. The Red Devils are currently third in the Premier League table, five points ahead of fifth-place Liverpool.

United have won seven games since Carrick's appointment, drawing two and losing just one. The club seems like it has its feel-good factor back, and the players seem to be thriving under Michael Carrick's management. The big question currently hanging over the club is who will be their next permanent manager?

With Roberto De Zerbi seemingly going to Tottenham Hotspur, Luis Enrique reportedly signing a new deal with PSG and no current manager without a club heavily rumoured with a move to Old Trafford, Carrick's chances of getting the job are increasingly likely.

Carrick has hardly put a foot wrong since walking through the doors at Carrington, and he won back-to-back league games in his first two matches with the club. In comparison to Amorim, it took him 14 months. The former Middlesbrough boss has overseen 10 games with the Red Devils, accumulating a 2.3 points per game average.

The run-in now begins, and Manchester United face fierce rivals Leeds United in their first league game back from the international break. The Red Devils still have to take on the sides who are currently sat fifth, sixth and seventh in the league. Those teams are Liverpool, Chelsea and Brentford.

The Premier League's form guide across the last 10 matches sees Manchester United top of the table, picking up 23 points from a possible 30. League leaders Arsenal have picked up 21 points from their last 10 league games.

Michael Carrick has done a superb job since being appointed as interim, but the big question is whether he would be able to handle the job permanently. Would you give the former Manchester United midfielder the job?
