Son Heung-Min continues to impress for LAFC

LAFC's Son Heung-Min has been brilliant this season, scoring six goals and assisting on 14 occasions for his club. The 34-year-old joined the MLS side in 2025 and has been impactful from his very first game for the club.

The South Korea international scored in five consecutive matches post-World Cup, netting six goals across those games. Two of his goals came for the MLS All-Stars against the Liga MX All-Stars, with the US league winning 4-3.

LAFC are on a good run of form right now, having won seven of their last eight fixtures. But the side find themselves outside of the top four in the Leagues Cup, and sit second in the Western Conference of the MLS.

Although they are level with Vancouver Whitecaps, the Canadian side have two games in hand over the Californian club.

Son Heung-Min has not scored in his last two appearances for LAFC, with both of those games being in the Leagues Cup. But in the MLS, he has often found goal involvements in the games he has played.

The 34-year-old has 12 goal involvements in 17 league games in 2026, already bettering his tally for last year, seeing him pick up 15 G/A in 13 appearances.

The Californian side will be hoping to lift the MLS Cup for the first time since 2022, when LAFC defeated Philadelphia Union on penalties 3-0. In the last nine years, there have been eight different MLS Cup winners, with Columbus Crew being the only side to win it twice in that period.

Son will be eyeing up the trophy as his next target, with his last piece of silverware being the UEFA Europa League final for Spurs.
