Raheem Sterling signs for Feyenoord on a short-term deal

Raheem Sterling has signed for Feyenoord on a short-term deal, following his departure from Chelsea by mutual consent. The 31-year-old has signed for Robin van Persie's side, who are currently second in Eredivisie.
Feyenoord are 17 points behind league leaders PSV Eindhoven, and are one point above third-place Nijmegen. Between mid December to mid January, the club failed to pick up a win in six; however, they ended their poor run with back-to-back wins.
In the Europa League, Feyenoord were knocked out of the competition during the league phase, finishing 29th, picking up six points from eight matches.
They were knocked out of the KNVB Beker by Heerenveen, suffering a 3-2 defeat at home in the round of 32.
The club from Rotterdam face Go Ahead Eagles this weekend, and the former Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City player could make his debut for the club.
Across Sterling's career, he has played 577 games, scoring 174 goals and assisting 124. He scored the most amount of goals in his career for Manchester City, netting 131 goals. He assisted 86 goals on top of his goal tally, featuring 339 times for the Cityzens.
At international level, the winger has featured 82 times for the Three Lions, scoring 20 goals across those appearances.
