Mohamed Salah signs for Trabzonspor

Mohamed Salah's time at Liverpool came to an end in the summer, following nine years with the Merseyside outfit. The Egyptian has penned a two-year contract with Turkish side Trabzonspor, as the club looks to win their first league title in five seasons.

Salah played 442 matches for Liverpool, scoring 257 and assisting 123. The winger will be hoping to return to his top form for his new club and compete at the top end of the Süper Lig table alongside the likes of Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe.

The former Liverpool star was heavily linked with a move to Besiktas, but Trabzonspor have acted quickly and completed a move for the 34-year-old. One of Salah’s new team-mates is has the Andre Onana, who is on loan from Manchester United.

Reports have stated that Salah's new contract is worth around €17m across the two years. The lucrative deal will see the former Liverpool star become one of the division's top earners right away.

A move to Besiktas broke down a few weeks ago, and the Black Eagles' director said negotiations slowed when discussing contract terms with the player. Trabzonspor did not hit a stumbling block during contract talks with Salah, which is why they have completed the signing of the free agent.
