Pascal Groß signed for Brighton back in 2017. The German midfielder made 261 appearances for the Seagulls across seven different seasons, scoring 32 goals and registering 53 assists.
In 2024, Groß departed the AMEX Stadium, moving to Borussia Dortmund. At the German giants, the midfielder made 66 appearances, scoring once. He picked up 17 assists across those games, with his career tally of assists currently sitting at 125.
The 34-year-old is on the move this January window, as he has returned to the Premier League, re-signing for Brighton. According to The Athletic, the transfer fee is an initial £1.74 million, with a further £750,000 in add-ons.
This season, Brighton find themselves 14th in the table with 25 points. They are currently two points above AFC Bournemouth, who are one place below them in the league table.
The Seagulls have failed to win any of their last six matches, facing Burnley in their next Premier League game.
After Burnley, Brighton play both Manchester clubs, with City up first in the league, followed by United in the FA Cup.
Groß will return to a club that he is so familiar with, helping him settle in quicker. With a wealth of experience playing in the league, he will be a great addition to Fabian Hürzeler's team.
