The 2025 African Cup of Nations is being hosted in Morocco, with the host nation kicking off the tournament at home to Comoros.

In Group A, alongside Morocco and Comoros, is Mali and Zambia, who play each other tomorrow in the second game of the tournament.

The game’s first piece of action came in the 11th minute, as Soufiane Rahimi stepped up to the penalty spot to put the hosts in the lead.

However, his penalty kick was missed, and the game remained 0-0.

Just five minutes shy of the hour mark, the deadlock was broken. Real Madrid’s Brahim Díaz latched onto a pass inside the box from Noussair Mazraoui and converted from close range.

The hosts were in the lead, and they doubled their advantage less than 20 minutes later.

An early total of the tournament contender was scored courtesy of Ayoub El Kaabi, who netted a spectacular overhead kick.

Morocco have started the tournament on home soil in the best way possible, winning 2-0 vs Comoros.
