The 2025/26 Premier League season saw Arsenal win the league for the first time in 22 years, ending a long wait for the title to be in the Gunners' hands.
Arsenal reached two cup finals this season, but lost in both. Despite the disappointment in the cup competitions, the club will be happy with how they performed overall, clinching the league title and ending a six-year major trophy drought.
For some Premier League teams, it was a successful season; for others, it was a campaign to forget...
Here is a list of who the best player was at each Premier League club during the 2025-26 season, according to us. 20 players have been selected for their performances in the league this campaign, with one player representing each club.
AFC Bournemouth:
Andoni Iraola's Bournemouth finished sixth this season, and ended the season unbeaten in their last 18 league games. Marcos Senesi, who has reportedly reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur, has been one player who has stood out the most for the Cherries. The Argentine defender is out of contract this summer, and he has been linked with a plethora of clubs across Europe. Marco Rose will prepare for Europa League football next season with the Cherries, ahead of what will be a historic campaign for the club.
But Marcos Senesi will not be a part of their squad after an impressive season with the club. His performances throughout the campaign have seemingly earned him a move to Spurs, who will be hoping to target European football next season.
Arsenal:
Arsenal have been excellent this season and have deservedly won the Premier League title. Their strength in defence has been a standout point in their team, which has seen David Raya win the Golden Glove for a third consecutive season. Raya has been crucial in big games for the club across all competitions and has been pivotal to their glory this campaign.
The Spaniard made a massive save away against West Ham United to deny Matheus Fernandes from equalising. The win for the Gunners put them on the verge of winning the league, and they then went on to do so one week later.
Aston Villa:
Aston Villa had another great campaign, with them winning the UEFA Europa League and finishing fourth in the Premier League. The side will compete in the UEFA Champions League next season, with the Villains looking to show their quality in the competition under Unai Emery for the second time in three years.
Morgan Rogers once again had a standout campaign for the villains, helping them to silverware this season. Rogers scored 14 and assisted 12 across all competitions, and he scored in the Europa League final as well. Multiple clubs are interested in the 23-year-old, but his brilliant quality will not come cheaply.
Brentford:
Brentford had their doubters at the start of the season, following the departures of key members of their squad last season, including Thomas Frank. Despite Bryan Mbeumo and Yoanne Wissa departing, one man stepped up at the top end of the pitch.
That player was Igor Thiago, who scored a staggering 22 league goals in the 25/26 campaign and netted 25 in total in all competitions. The Brazilian has earned his spot in Brazil's World Cup squad ahead of the 2026 tournament, where his nation will face Scotland, Haiti and Morocco.
Thiago played a siginificant role in Brentford's ninth-place finish, and the Bees missed out on European football through goal difference. Many wrote the side off, but Brentford and Igor Thiago quickly silenced their doubters.
Brighton:
Brighton secured European football following an eighth-place finish in the table, which will see them compete in the Conference League next season. The Seagulls' standout performer for the 25/26 campaign was veteran striker Danny Welbeck, who netted 14 goals across three competitions. He scored 13 times in the Premier League, finishing as the league's ninth-highest goalscorer.
Welbeck has signed a new contract with the Seagulls, keeping him at the club until the end of next season. Despite being 35, he has looked the most lethal he has ever looked in front of goal.
He was receiving huge shouts to be in England's World Cup squad, but he missed out on a place at the final tournament.
Burnley:
Zian Flemming scored 11 league goals for Burnley in the 25/26 season, where the club finished 19th in the table. Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman has not selected Burnley's attacker for the World Cup; however, he has certainly impressed. Multiple Premier League clubs reportedly hold an interest in the forward, who has netted double figures in his first season in the Premier League.
Flemming missed nine league games this season, but he still managed to net 11 goals. He scored six goals in his last 11 appearances for the Claret and Blues, who scored just 38 league goals in 38 games.
Chelsea:
It has been a season to forget for Chelsea, who finished 10th in the Premier League table and finished runners-up in the FA Cup. João Pedro was one of only a few positives for Chelsea this season, with him scoring 20 goals in all competitions.
The Brazilian scored 15 in 35 in the Premier League and was one of the Blues' biggest threats in front of goal in the 25/26 campaign.
Pedro's debut season with Chelsea was one he will remember, and he will be hoping to build on his good form going into next season. 12 of his 20 goals for the Blues were scored in 2026, making his second half of the season standout.
Crystal Palace:
Crystal Palace lifted two trophies during the 2025/26 season, the FA Community Shield and the UEFA Conference League. Ismaïla Sarr scored 21 goals during the season for the Eagles, helping the side win two pieces of silverware. The Senegalese winger played 45 games across all competitions for the London outfit, and along with his 21 goals, he picked up one assist.
Sarr played the full 90 minutes of the Conference League final, helping his team to secure Europa League football for the 2026/27 campaign.
Everton:
James Garner has stood out for the Toffees this campaign, with the side targeting European football for the majority of the season. A disappointing end saw Everton miss out on their goal, but James Garner stood out for the side.
Brilliant performances in defence and midfield saw Garner catch plenty of praise from fans and pundits, and many people believe he should have been going to the World Cup with England. The £9 million Everton spent on the 25-year-old seems to be a bargain, after just three seasons with the club.
Fulham:
Harry Wilson's 25/26 season has been outstanding, and the free agent will not be short of offers this summer. The Welshman was involved in 19 goals in all competitions, with 17 of those being in the league.
Fulham finished 11th in the table, but they were just two points off seventh. Wilson's great display in front of goal helped the side secure 11th, and multiple Premier League clubs will be making him offers ahead of next season.
Wilson is a free agent following the end of the season, and while Fulham would love to keep him, teams competing in European competitions will be asking Wilson about his situation. Sides who have also finished above Fulham will be lurking for his signature, with Liverpool and Fulham reportedly interested in him.
Leeds United:
Leeds United finished 14th in the Premier League, avoiding relegation, and doing so with multiple games remaining of the season. The Whites were tipped by many to go down, but an impressive unbeaten run around Christmas gave the side a great platform to go and avoid the drop.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin was signed as a free agent in the summer, and he scored 14 league goals for Leeds in the Premier League. The 29-year-old scored three goals in his last four matches of the season, ending the campaign on a high.
He also scored in six-straight games, with Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool conceding to him during that hot streak.
Liverpool:
Liverpool finished the season securing fifth place on the final day, after drawing 1-1 with Brentford. Champions League football was confirmed on matchday 38, which also saw the departures of key players such as Andy Robertson and Mo Salah.
The season will be considered a disappointing one for the Reds, who have had problems throughout the campaign. Hugo Ekitike was a bright spark for the Merseyside club, and the Frenchman netted 16 goals in all competitions. He missed the last six matches of the season due to an Achilles tendon injury, and he will miss the beginning of next season as a result.
Manchester City:
Pep Guardiola's final season at Manchester City sees the Cityzens lift two trophies, the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup. Nico O'Reilly played a big part in the Carabao Cup final against Arsenal, scoring a brace to help his side lift the trophy.
He also played 90 minutes in the FA Cup final against Chelsea, as the Cityzens won 1-0 courtesy of Antoine Semenyo. In all competitions, O'Reilly scored nine goals and assisted six.
The 21-year-old has shown his versatility this season, with him playing at left-back and also in midfield. The Man City academy graduate has won the 25/26 Young Player of the Season award in the Premier League, following an impressive season.
Manchester United:
The 25/26 seaosn was a rollercoaster campaign for Manchester United, who saw Ruben Amorim sacked at the start of the year, before Michael Carrick guided the Red Devils from January until the end of the campaign.
One player who has stood out all season is Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese midfielder has been crucial to Manchester United during the 25/26 season, which saw him get 30 goal involvements in 35 appearances in the league. The midfielder has also won the Premier League Player of the Season award for the 25/26 season, after being clinical in front of goal for the Red Devils.
Bruno Fernandes had a record-breaking season when it came to assists, as he assisted 21 goals and became the only player to ever do so in one Premier League campaign.
Since returning from injury in January, Bruno Fernandes has picked up at least one goal involvement in 15 of his 19 appearances for Man United.
Newcastle United:
Newcastle United have struggled this season in all competitions, with the Magpies finishing 12th in the league and being knocked out of the Champions League 8-3 on aggregate by Barcelona. Eddie Howe's side won just two of their last nine games this season, showing their bumpy form in comparison to how they performed last campaign.
Bruno Guimarães was a standout star for Newcastle across the 25/26 season, and his long absence was felt heavily by the side. The Brazilian midfielder missed 15 games in 2026 due to injury, and the Magpies won just four of those clashes.
Guimarães featured 41 times across the season for the North East outfit, scoring nine and assisting seven. 14 of his goal involvements were in the Premier League, across his 29 appearances in the competition.
Nottingham Forest:
Elliot Anderson has been Nottingham Forest's standout player this season. The midfielder has been heavily linked with a move away from the club this summer, with both Manchester clubs interested in the 23-year-old.
Reports have stated the club wants over £100 million for the midfielder, who is going to the upcoming World Cup with England.
In the league, Anderson scored four and assisted four for the Reds in 38 appearances. He played in every league game, and three of his goal involvements came in the last three matches of the season.
Sunderland:
Sunderland secured Europa League football on the final day of the season, in a campaign that has been hugely successful for the Black Cats. Granit Xhaka has been at the heart of Sunderland's success this season, featuring in 34 league games. He missed four league matches, and Sunderland lost three of those, showing how important the Swiss midfielder is.
Xhaka scored one league goal and assisted six as the Black Cats finished seventh in the league, ending the season unbeaten in their last four. The 33-year-old joined from Bayer Leverkusen last summer, and the transfer will go down as one of the best pieces of business Sunderland does as a Premier League club.
Tottenham Hotspur:
Archie Gray has been one of the only positives for Tottenham Hotspur across the 25/26 campaign. A very disappointing season for the Lilywhites saw them avoid relegation on the final day, and finish 17th-place in the league for the second campaign in a row.
Archie Gray produced positive performances throughout the campaign in all competitions, as he featured in 35 games for the club in five different competitions. The versatile midfielder has also played in defence for Spurs, amid an injury crisis which hampered the club.
West Ham United:
Mateus Fernandes seems destined to leave recently-relegated West Ham United, who will play in the EFL Championship for the first time in 14 years.
The Portuguese midfielder has been brilliant for the Hammers since joining at the start of the season, scoring four goals and assisting four. He has played 38 games for West Ham, and has been rumoured with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and PSG. With the Hammers relegated, he could be available at a cut price, raising the interest of clubs across the globe.
Fernandes played 36 league games in total for the Hammers and picked up seven goal involvements in those appearances.
Wolves:
The 2025-26 season has been one to forget for Wolves, who finished bottom of the Premier League. Midfielder Joao Gomes was one key player in the side that failed to avoid the drop. The Brazilian has been linked with a move to Atlético Madrid for around £40 million, in what would be a great coup for the Spanish outfit.
The departure of the Brazilian will be a big loss for Wolves, but they will receive a large transfer fee, ahead of next season in the EFL Championship.
The 25-year-old played in 35 league games for Wolves, scoring once and assisting once. The player was signed for £15 million in 2023, so Wolves will make a nice amount of profit on him.
