Tottenham Hotspur's summer spending spree

Spurs were busy during the summer transfer window, signing plenty of stars in the hope of pushing the side further up the table.

After back-to-back disappointing campaigns, Spurs cannot afford to have a third successive season fighting relegation.

Therefore, the club spent big during the summer transfer window, signing 10 players.

The most expensive signing Spurs made was Sandro Tonali, who joined the Lilywhites from Newcastle United in a deal that could reach £100m. £92.5m was guaranteed for the Magpies, who could also earn £7.5m through potential add-ons.

Mateus Fernandes was another midfielder to join Spurs in the summer, making the switch from relegated West Ham United. The Portuguese midfielder joined from the Hammers for a fee of £85m, choosing Spurs over Manchester United.

Tottenham signed two players from Manchester City, Omar Marmoush and Savio. Marmoush joined the club on an initial loan, with a £60m obligation to buy. Savio signed for £75m, with an additional £10m available through add-ons.

Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson and Martin Dúbravka all joined the club on free transfers. Senesi signed from Bournemouth, Robertson joined from Liverpool and Dúbravka signed from relegated Burnley.

Jan Paul van Hecke completed a move from Brighton to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer, signing for £52m. The 26-year-old signed a long-term contract from the Seagulls to strengthen Tottenham's defence, with Cristian Romero leaving.

Spurs signed two players from Chelsea on deadline day, Mykhailo Mudryk and Tosin Adarabioyo. Mudryk was signed on a season-long loan, linking up with former boss Roberto De Zerbi.

Tosin signed on a permanent deal from Chelsea, replacing Kevin Danso, who signed for Sunderland on loan with an option to buy. The fee for the former Chelsea defender was £7m, plus £5m in add-ons.
