Bolton Wanderers hosted Wycombe Wanderers in League One on Saturday. The Wanderers were looking to strengthen their spot inside the play-offs, while dealing a blow to Wycombe Wanderers, who are looking to move closer to the play-offs.

A win for Bolton would see them move eight points behind Cardiff City, following the Bluebirds' lunchtime defeat against Lincoln City. The top of the table clash saw the Imps leapfrog Cardiff to take top spot.

Steven Schumacher's team were looking to also move three points clear of Bradford City, if the Bantams also won their 3PM match.

In the first-half, Bolton started slowly, and Wycombe found themselves 2-0 up at half-time. Cauley Woodrow fired in the first for the Chairboys, before Fulham loanee Luke Harris doubled the away side's advantage. Bolton were facing their first defeat in 10, unless they could complete a brilliant turnaround in the second 45.

In the 87th minute, Bolton were looking like they were going to suffer defeat. This was until Ruben Rodrigues pulled one back for the hosts. The Portuguese forward had scored his first for the club since joining, and the goal could have proved to be pivotal if the hosts got something from the game.

Three minutes on from Rodrigues' goal, Hull City loanee Mason Burstow netted the equalising goal in the 91st minute of the game. Bolton had rescued a crucial point late on, against Wycombe, who were charging for the play-offs.

There was still time left for somebody to find the winner, and with Bolton in the ascendancy, it seemed like it was going to be them. And it was.

Corey Blackett-Taylor scored his first goal in five games, in the 95th minute, to give his side three crucial points in their push for promotion. The loanee from Derby County found the back of the net in the fifth minute of added time, and he had surely secured the win for Bolton.

At the full-time whistle, relief could be felt from the home side of the stadium, while away fans were left frustrated that they had watched their side capitulate.

Bolton's win put them eight behind Cardiff City, but crucially, three points clear of Bradford City. Bolton now have an eight-point gap to fifth-place Stockport County, who are two spots below Schumacher's team in the play-offs.

Had Wycombe held onto the lead, they would have climbed into the play-offs, taking sixth-place. The defeat however, leaves them in ninth, two points away from Huddersfield Town, who occupy the last play-off spot.

Do you think Bolton will get promoted to the Championship this season?
