Manchester City's Bernardo Silva will leave the club at the end of the season, Pep Lijnders has confirmed. The Portuguese midfielder joined the Cityzens from AS Monaco in 2017, for a rumoured initial transfer fee of £43.5 million.

During his spell at the Etihad Stadium, he has lifted 18 trophies, winning his first in 2018 and winning his latest last month against Arsenal.

Manchester City's assistant manager, Pep Lijnders, confirmed the Portugal international will leave at the end of the season, saying:

"When he's [Bernardo Silva] not playing, you will see how he's missed. And that's one game. Imagine a season? But every good story comes to an end. I hope he enjoys the last months, it is only six weeks, and he has a good farewell and he deserves all that attention as well."

Bernardo Silva will be available as a free agent this summer, and fans are starting to wonder where he will be next season. He has previously been linked with clubs such as Benfica, Barcelona, multiple clubs in Saudi Arabia, and many more from across the globe.

With the 31-year-old achieving so much in English football, he could look to play outside the Premier League. A move away from England currently seems the most likely option, but no team has become a standout frontrunner so far.

But with the news of Silva leaving in the summer being confirmed, movements could become apparent in the coming weeks. The serial winner could look to have his next club confirmed prior to the start of the summer World Cup.

With the midfielder only being 31, he still has plenty of seasons left in him, but the big decision he has is where he will go next. He will not be short of options this summer due to his quality, which could make the choice difficult when he has to narrow down one team to join.
