James Garner joined Everton from Manchester United in 2022 for a fee of £9 million. The midfielder made two Premier League appearances for Manchester United before departing for Merseyside to join the Toffees. Since joining the club in 2022, he has made 103 appearances for the side in all competitions, scoring three goals and getting six assists.
In his most recent game against Nottingham Forest, whom he was with for two seasons on loan, Garner scored and got an assist as Everton were 2-0 winners.
James Garner has also featured in every single league game for Everton this season, showing how important he is to the side.
While he has been impressive this season, his contract with the Toffees runs out at the end of the season. One club that has been linked with the midfielder is Manchester United.
The Red Devils are rumoured to be interested in re-signing the Carrington graduate, amid concerns in the midfield area. There have been links that United will make a move for the 24-year-old in January as a deal could be completed for a lower price, but nothing is concrete.
Ruben Amorim's Manchester United have been linked with Conor Gallagher, Carlos Baleba and Elliott Anderson, who would help bolster their midfield options.
Garner will no doubt gain interest from other clubs both in the Premier League and in Europe, after a successful start to the 2025/26 campaign.
Do you think the 24-year-old will extend his contract with Everton, or do you think he will depart the Hill Dickinson Stadium in the summer?
