Cesc Fabregas' Como will play European football for the first time in their history next season, after qualifying for the UEFA Champions League on the final day. Como finished fourth in the league, securing UCL football for the first time. They have qualified to play in the competition alongside Inter, Napoli and Roma.

Fabregas' side defeated Cremonese on the final day of the season, 4-1, to finish inside the top four, while relegating their opponents at the same time.

Como will now plan ahead of an exciting season of football, which will see them compete on Europe's biggest stage, against some of the world's best. With the money which is now involved in the Champions League following its restructuring, the Italian side is set to inherit a substantial sum of money, which will further boost the club both on and off the pitch.

In the league this season, Como won 20 of their 38 matches, proving that they have been an extremely strong team in Italy. They also reached the Coppa Italia semi-finals, where they were knocked-out by Inter, who went on to win the competition.

One big talking point about Como going into the summer is whether or not they can keep hold of their star man, Nico Paz. Fabregas has said that he will not leave the club for anyone other than Real Madrid, as the Spanish giants have a buy-back clause for the Argentinian of just €6 million.

The deal would be costly for Como, considering Paz's market value will be at least over €50 million, and if Madrid bring him back, the Italian side could lose out on a large sum of money.

Right now, it seems like Como will enter the competition and be placed into pot four, out of four possible pots. They will face at least two teams from each pot in the competition, with four games being at home and four being away.
