Chelsea's squad size is huge compared to other clubs across Europe, which could see the Blues look to offload personnel this summer. Transfer departures will reduce the squad size but also raise funds for the team as they look to strengthen ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The Blues finished 10th in the Premier League and finished as runners-up in the FA Cup final. The side recently confirmed the appointment of Xabi Alonso as their manager, who will look to bring in new players who will fit his style of play, ahead of next season.

But if players are to join Chelsea, some members of the squad will have to depart. Here are five players who could exit Stamford Bridge this summer.

Liam Delap:

Liam Delap joined Chelsea last summer from Ipswich Town for £30 million, but the striker has struggled to find the back of the net regularly. Joao Pedro has been the main striker at Stamford Bridge, but with Emmanuel Emegha joining and with Nicolas Jackson returning to the club, Delap's minutes could be limited even more.

With this, Chelsea could look to offload Delap and raise funds one year after signing the striker. With him moving for £30m, Chelsea will be hopeful of making a profit on his transfer just 12 months on.

Marc Guiu:

20-year-old Marc Guiu joined Chelsea in 2024 from Barcelona, for a fee of just £5 million. The Spaniard featured only eight times in the league across the 2025/26 season, picking up just one goal involvement.

The transfer fee is relatively cheap for today's market, and Chelsea will be hopeful of making a profit if he does depart the club. The young striker is yet to be properly given a chance at Stamford Bridge, but with Emegha joining the club and Jackson returning, the striker position is popular at the Bridge.

Filip Jorgensen:

Chelsea have placed a £40 million price tag on Filip Jorgensen as the summer window gets underway, which would help the Blues raise significant funds if they are to splash the cash. Robert Sanchez is viewed as Chelsea's number one, and Jorgensen could be on the search for regular game time from next season.

The 24-year-old played 12 games across the 2025/26 season, and the Blues signed him for £20.7 million just two years ago. Even if Chelsea cannot get the £40 million that they desire for the keeper, they would expect to make a profit on the Danish shotstopper this summer.

Axel Disasi:

Axel Disasi has played six times for Chelsea in the Premier League since the start of the 2024/25 season, spending time out on loan at Aston Villa and West Ham United. The French defender joined Chelsea from AS Monaco for £38 million, but the Blues could look to move him on and recoup as much money for him as possible.

The centre-back was part of the West Ham squad that was relegated last season, playing in 14 of their league matches. The 28-year-old could be seen as someone who could help raise funds by leaving, while freeing up a spot in the squad ahead of the upcoming season.

Alejandro Garnacho:

The former Manchester United winger has struggled to hit form since switching to Chelsea last summer. In the league, the 22-year-old has scored just once for the Blues, assisting four.

Garnacho joined for £40 million last summer, and with him only being 22, clubs across the globe could look to sign the winger and turn his form around. While he still has plenty of seasons ahead of him, Chelsea have a ruthless transfer strategy, and if a tempting offer comes in for Garancho, they could part ways.

Estevao, Giovany Quenda, Pedro Neto, Tyrique George and Jamie Gittens are all battling alongside Garnacho for a spot on either wing at Chelsea, and players will naturally see their numbers limited due to the competition.

If Garnacho is unsettled after a disappointing first season at Stamford Bridge, he could be open to a move away, which could be good for both the player and the club.
