West Ham United learn their EFL Championship fixture schedule

West Ham United will be an EFL Championship football club during the 2026/27 season. The Hammers will not be a Premier League team for the first time since 2012, ending their top-flight status.
West Ham learned their fixture list for the upcoming 46-game league season, which will begin at Turf Moor against Burnley. The game will be played on Sunday during the opening weekend of the EFL season, with two of the three recently relegated Premier League teams facing one another.
The Hammers' first home game of the season sees them host fellow London side Charlton Athletic before ending the month on the road, facing Watford.
Nuno Espírito Santo's side will end the campaign at home against Swansea City, with the Hammers hopeful to have secured Promotion back to the Premier League come matchday 46.
A week before their league campaign begins, West Ham will host Portsmouth in the first round of the EFL Cup. The Hammers will be hoping to kickstart their competitive season with a win and bounce back from last season's misery.
West Ham's clashes with Millwall will be two highly anticipated EFL Championship fixtures next season, with their first meeting being at The Den.
19 September is when the fixture is scheduled to take place, but the date and time could change depending on whether it will be broadcast, which it seemingly will.
The second meeting between the heated rivals has been marked down for 20 February, but once again, that could change.
The last meeting between West Ham United and Millwall was in 2012, with the Hammers winning 2-1 with 10 men. Kevin Nolan was sent off less than 10 minutes into the game, but West Ham went on to win the clash at Upton Park.
That season, the Hammers went on to win promotion to the Premier League, winning against Blackpool 2-1 in the final at Wembley Stadium.
West Ham United will be hoping to replicate the 2011/12 season and gain promotion to the Premier League. But this upcoming season, they will want to do it automatically and avoid the nerves of the play-offs.
