Sheffield Wednesday were the quickest team to be relegated in the EFL in history, after their relegation to League One this season.

The Owls have played 37 league games this season, winning only one. The Yorkshire side has had a troubling season so far, and next season seems like it will begin with the club automatically in the relegation zone.

Due to no parties interested in buying the club willing to pay former owner Dejphon Chansiri £15 million, the club is set to begin next campaign in League One with a 15-point deduction.

Former Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley is reportedly interested in buying Sheffield Wednesday, but his bid is reportedly the lowest of four. A bid of around £20 million is the fee which Ashley has put forward, and he is deemed to be the frontrunner.

Wednesday's players and staff will have full focus on their on-pitch performances, but the background noise at the moment is extremely loud and will no doubt catch their attention.

The club's last win was against Portsmouth back in September, and they have lost 15 of their last 16 matches across all competitions. The side was officially relegated against rivals Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, when the Blades won 2-1.

The Owls were handed an 18-point deduction this season, and the club are currently sitting on -6 points, having picked up only 12 points this campaign. With one win, nine draws and 27 losses, they are 41 points away from Oxford United, who are 23rd.

Sheffield Wednesday have scored the fewest goals in the league this season, and have conceded the most. 23 goals scored and 74 conceded sees the Owls sit with a -51 goal difference.
