Rochdale currently sit fourth in the National League following the weekend's results. The Dale travelled away from home to Gateshead, and the Greater Manchester side won 2-0.

Immanuelson Duku opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, while Ryan East doubled the scoring in the 87th minute.

The win puts Rochdale one point behind league leaders York City, but Jim McNulty's side have three games in hand over the team in first. The team in fourth have played the least amount of matches in the division this season, playing 23. Carlisle United, who are third, have played four more games than Rochdale, but United are only one point above them.

With Rochdale having games in hand still to play, they are set to play eight matches in the next four weeks. The congested fixture list will prove to be tricky for the Dale, but they could move to first with potential wins in the coming weeks.

York City, who are first, drew against seventh-place Southend United, and the North East side missed an opportunity to move two points clear in first.

Carlisle United drew 3-3 against Solihull Moors, but they could have gone first with a win. The Moors scored a 93rd-minute equaliser to deny Mark Hughes' side the win on the road.

Across the last five league matches, Rochdale have picked up 12 points out of a possible 15. They also have the best away record in the division, picking up 31 points from 13 league games on the road.

However at home, the Dale have the seventh-best record in the division, picking up 24 points from 10 games.

The next three games for Rochdale see them play one away game and two at home. Their next match is against Solihull Moors away from home, which is followed by home matches versus Truro City and Southend United.

Do you think Rochdale will get promoted back to the Football League this season?
