17-year-old Rio Ngumoha has had his breakthrough season this campaign, with him featuring 21 times for Liverpool.

The standout moment for Ngumoha this season was when he scored his first senior goal of his career, against Newcastle United back in August. The teenager, who at the time was 16, scored a 100th-minute winner for the Reds in the North East, to secure three points late on against the Magpies.

He has featured for the Reds in the Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup and the UEFA Champions League this season, and has been an important squad player for the club. The teenage sensation has featured eight times across Liverpool's last nine matches in all competitions. The 17-year-old is seemingly on his way to making himself a starter for the club, and he has been impressive since completing a move from Chelsea last season.

Ngumoha started for the Reds in their most recent FA Cup clash, which was against Wolves. Liverpool were 3-1 winners, and the teenager played 69 minutes in the game. Liverpool's next match is against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, and Ngumoha will be wanting to start against the side that recently won the Carabao Cup. Fans have been unhappy with Cody Gakpo this season, and the addition of Ngumoha into matchday squads has been welcomed by the Anfield faithful.

Liverpool are currently in three competitions, the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup. A title defence is out of the picture, but picking up a trophy in the remainder of the season is still on the cards. Rio Ngumoha will want to get his hands on the first major trophy of his career, and it could potentially be either the FA Cup or Champions League this season.

While it has been a disappointing season to date for Arne Slot's side, there have been some positives to take from the campaign so far. Ngumoha is one of those positives, with him going from strength to strength each game he plays for the Merseyside club.
