Rangers hosted Kilmarnock last night in the Scottish Premiership, with a win helping the side close the gap to league leaders Hearts to only three points.
Kilmarnock started the game off badly, picking up a red card after just four minutes. Rangers also had a penalty, which was to be taken by James Tavernier. The defender made no mistake and slotted home to give his side the lead after only five minutes.
Danny Röhl's team were 1-0 up at home and were now facing 10-men, with the game being a great opportunity for the Gers to pick up three points.
The half-time scoreline was 1-0 to Rangers, with them controlling the game going into the second 45. Rangers were looking at their seventh league win in their last eight matches. Celtic's away match against Aberdeen was postponed yesterday, so the Blue side of Glasgow would be three points clear of their rivals.
In the second half, Rangers doubled their lead in the 58th minute through Bojan Miovski. His goal gave Rangers an easier half an hour, with less pressure on them. A third was scored for the side in the 74th minute, as Andreas Skov Olsen netted his first for Rangers.
10-man Kilmarnock pulled one back in the 84th minute through Greg Kiltie, making the scoreline 3-1. But there was no comeback for the away side, as Oliver Antman and Mikey Moore fired home goals late on in the match. A 5-1 win at home for Rangers sees them move three points behind Hearts in the league, and get back to winning ways in the league.
