Nottingham Forest travelled to Sunderland this evening, with both sides needing three points in their respective seasons. Forest were hoping to win to climb further away from the relegation zone, while Sunderland would have climbed to eighth with a win.

Forest went into the game unbeaten in their last seven matches across all competitions, while Sunderland had won two of their last three. In the reverse fixture at the City Ground, Sunderland were 1-0 winners, thanks to Omar Alderete.e

At the Stadium of Light, Nottingham Forest got off to a flying start. The relegation-threatened side found themselves 1-0 up after 17 minutes, with Trai Hume scoring an own goal. But things got even better for the away side.

Forest scored in the 31st, 33rd and 37th-minute of the game, and found themselves 4-0 up at the half-time break. Three goals in six minutes from the visitors put them in an extremely comfortable position to go and claim all three points.

In the second 45, it was a quieter half, but there was still time for one more goal. Elliot Anderson scored deep in added-time, and the Reds return to Nottingham with three vital points in their bid for survival. Vitor Pereira's team are now eight points clear of the drop zone, with four games left to play.

The result now increases the pressure on both West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur, going into their weekend fixtures. Spurs are in the relegation zone by two points, but they face already-relegated Wolves tomorrow.

The Hammers take on Everton tomorrow at the London Stadium, and the Toffees will be hoping to pick up a win to keep their European football hopes alive.

Nottingham Forest's next match is against Aston Villa on Thursday in the Europa League, and they then return to league action to face out-of-form Chelsea. The Blues have failed to pick up a win in any of their last five league games, but their attention this weekend is on the FA Cup.

Who do you think will be relegated this season from the Premier League, along with Wolves and Burnley?
