Nico Paz: The gem shining for Como

Nico Paz joined Serie A side Como from Real Madrid in 2024. The Argentine midfielder has been a hugely successful signing since joining the club two seasons ago. For a fee of only €6 million, he has been worth every penny, and he has helped the club to sit fourth in the league so far this season.

Reports have circulated that Real Madrid, who have a buy-back clause for the midfielder, will activate the clause and bring the 21-year-old back to the club this summer. Paz has been involved in 16 goals this season for Como, scoring 10.

Working under Cesc Fabregas, who was an iconic midfielder during his playing days, will have helped Paz to develop even further. The Argentinian is currently joint-second in the league's golden boot race, tied with six other players. He is five behind Lautaro Martinez, who is top with 14 goals.

With the 2026 World Cup happening this summer, Nico Paz will be hoping he can impress to be a part of the defending champions' squad in the summer.

Despite the heavy links with a move back to Real Madrid in the summer, he has also caught the eye of plenty of clubs across Europe. From other teams in Serie A to sides in the Premier League and Bundesliga, Paz will not be short of offers in the summer.

The big question will be if Real Madrid decide to bring him back; if not, then the line of clubs who are in for Paz will be long.

He has not just impressed this campaign for Como however, as last season, he scored six and assisted eight in the league alone.

The 21-year-old would be a great addition to Real Madrid's squad for next seaosn if he returns, which would have an incredibly talented midfield. Paz would more likely than not play as the midfielder furthest forward, to bring out his attacking talent.

Como will have their eyes on silverware this season, as they remain in the Coppa Italia. They face Inter away from home in their second leg clash, after the first leg finished 0-0.
