Leeds united reach agreement with Harry Wilson

Leeds United are closing in on their first signing of the summer, as they have reached an agreement with free agent Harry Wilson, reports The Athletic's David Ornstein.

The 29-year-old winger is reportedly set to pen a long-term contract with the Yorkshire side, which will see his wage increase in comparison to what he was earning at Fulham.

The Welshman picked up 17 goal involvements in the Premier League last season, scoring 10 and assisting seven. The former Liverpool winger has not been short of interest this summer, and Leeds have struck a deal with the highly touted winger.

Wilson has scored just two goals since the start of February for club and country combined, which is a change in form in comparison to how he started the campaign for Fulham. However, Leeds United have reached an agreement for a winger who was wanted by fellow Premier League side Aston Villa, who finished fourth in the league last season.

Despite a disappointing end to the season goal-wise, his talent is clear to see, and he will hope to deliver for his new club when the 2026/27 season gets underway.

The Welshman could make his competitive debut for Leeds United against Nottingham Forest in the opening game of the seaosn, and he could face his former side on matchday 16.

Daniel Farke's side finished 14th in the Premier League, avoiding relegation in their first season back in the top flight. The Whites will be hoping to push further up the league table next season, and the signing of Harry Wilson will certainly boost their chances of improving their league finish.

With Wilfried Gnonto's future uncertain at Leeds United, the signing of a winger helps to bring cover in case the Italian does depart this window.
