Bruno Fernandes produced another Player of the Match performance at the weekend, as he assisted twice in Manchester United's 3-1 win against Aston Villa.

The Red Devils went into the game level on points with Aston Villa, but Michael Carrick's side were above the Villains in the league table on goal difference.

Bruno Fernandes stepped up to take a corner in the 53rd minute, and his near-post cross met Casemiro, who saw his glancing header bounce off the back post and go in. United took a one-goal lead, and it was crucial in their fight to get closer to Champions League qualification.

Ross Barkley levelled the game in the 64th minute, giving Villa hope that they could build on their leveller and take the lead. However, the Red Devils were not level for long, and Michael Carrick's side regained their lead less than 10 minutes later.

Bruno Fernandes, in the 71st minute, dispatched a pinpoint through ball for Matheus Cunha, who was one-on-one against Emi Martinez, before shooting low and putting Manchester United back in front.

The third and final goal for Man United came courtesy of super sub Benjamin Šeško, who has scored his eighth goal in his last 10 games. The striker has found his form in front of goal, and he helped seal the three points for the Red Devils.

At full-time, Manchester United found themselves in third, three points above Aston Villa. United are now six points clear of sixth-place Chelsea, and are looking each week more likely to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season.

Yet again, Bruno Fernandes produced a spectacular display for the Red Devils, which saw him pick up two assists.

The Portuguese midfielder is only four assists away from equaling the highest-ever assist record in one single Premier League season, which is 20. The record is shared between Kevin De Bruyne and Thierry Henry.

Fans have already taken to social media to say how they think Fernandes should win the Premier League Player of the Season award, but do you agree with those claims?
