Five players Arsenal should sign this summer

Arsenal lifted the Premier League for the first time in 22 years, ending a long wait for the league title to return to the club. Despite the success in the Premier League, the Gunners fell short in the UEFA Champions League, losing on penalties to PSG.
While Mikel Arteta's side will be looking to build on their success this season, they need to add to their squad to further distance themselves from their opponents.
Here are five players SFWFootball has selected to help Arsenal get their first league title in over 20 years.
Lautaro Martínez:
Lautaro Martínez has been one of the best goal scorers across Europe since joining Inter in 2018, and Arsenal could be on the lookout to reinforce the striker position this summer. Gabriel Jesus could leave this summer, and his injury record has not been great since joining the Gunners.
Kai Havertz has often found himself playing up top in the number nine position when Viktor Gyökeres hasn't played. The Swedish striker has scored 21 goals this season for Arsenal, but his performances have received criticism.
Lautaro Martínez has scored 175 goals since joining Inter, and he has won numerous trophies with the Italian club. While it seems like he is flying in Italy right now, he could look elsewhere to challenge himself further. The 28-year-old Argentina international would be a brilliant striker signing for Arsenal. The forward, who has frequently found the back of the net in Italy, has netted 22 goals this season, but he was sidelined for nearly two months due to injury this campaign.
Robert Lewandowski:
Robert Lewandowski is leaving Barcelona this summer as a free agent, and he is yet to decide where he will go next. The world-class striker, aged 37, would be the perfect free signing for the Premier League club, as he would bring a huge amount of experience to the frontline.
The clinical forward scored 19 across all competitions during the 2025/26 campaign, and he is available for free this summer. Bringing experience to the frontline and adding squad depth could see the Gunners make a move.
Mateus Fernandes:
West Ham United were relegated on the final day of the Premier League season, which could see the club look to raise funds this summer. Mateus Fernandes has reportedly told the club that he wants to leave this summer, with Arsenal interested in the midfielder.
Fernandes missed a great opportunity against Arsenal at the London Stadium, which if he scored, both Arsenal and West Ham's seasons could have looked different.
The 21-year-old scored four goals and assisted four during his season with the Hammers, which ended in disappointment. Reports say a fee of around £40 million could tempt West Ham to accept, as they look to recoup funds following their relegation.
Julian Alvarez:
Diego Simeone has previously confirmed that Arsenal have held an interest in Atlético Madrid's Julian Alvarez. The former Manchester City forward signed for the Spanish side in 2024 and has been outstanding for the Madrid club.
The Argentine has played 106 games for Atléti in all competitions since joining, scoring 49 goals and assisting 17.
Reports have circulated that Álvarez wants to leave this summer, which could make Arsenal try to complete a move for the forward. However, the price will be high after Álvarez has had a brilliant second season with Diego Simeone's team.
Bradley Barcola:
Bradley Barcola was excellent against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League final, and the Frenchman had multiple opportunities to score in the game. The 23-year-old scored 13 goals across all competitions, with 11 coming in Ligue 1 and two coming in the Champions League.
The left winger played 49 games in all competitions for PSG across the 25/26 campaign and was vital in the side's success both domestically and in Europe.
If Barcola does make a move this summer, the buying club will have to spend a large amount of money on the winger, who has excelled since becoming a Parisian. Arsenal's front line this season has failed to have a reliable goalscorer week in week out, and Barcola could be that addition.
