Ezri Konsa signs for Arsenal

Arsenal have completed the signing of 28-year-old defender Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa for an initial £51m fee.

Premier League champions Arsenal have completed the signing of Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa in a deal that could reach £55m.

The Gunners have officially announced the signing of the defender, who has signed a long-term contract with the club.

Konsa will wear the number 15 shirt for his new club and could make his debut against his former side, Aston Villa, on August 31.

Last season, Konsa made 48 appearances for the Villains across all competitions. He scored two goals and assisted one, with all three goal involvements coming in the UEFA Europa League.

He also played in 12 of Villa's Europa League fixtures, helping his side win the competition against Freiburg. The English side were 3-0 winners in the final.

Arsenal's newest recruit made 34 appearances in the Premier League last season, helping the Villains finish fourth in the table. His availability will be a huge bonus for Arsenal, as they look to do well in all competitions this campaign.

Konsa becomes Arsenal's fifth signing of the summer, joining Piero Hincapie, Christos Tzolis, Illan Meslier and Bruno Guimarães.

On signing for the Gunners, the England international said:
