Estêvão picked up a hamstring injury against Manchester United last weekend, which will see the Brazilian sidelined for the remainder of the season.

The 19-year-old has played 36 games for Chelsea this season, and he has scored eight goals. But the hamstring injury means Estêvão will be sidelined for Chelsea's remaining fixtures in the 25-26 season, and his World Cup has been cast into doubt. At the moment, it is unknown whether he will recover in time for the tournament beginning on 11 June.

Brazil will face Morocco, Haiti and Scotland at the competition, with the South American side hoping to win their sixth World Cup title. Chelsea's Estêvão missed the last international break due to injury, being denied a great opportunity to show Carlo Ancelotti his ability.

The 19-year-old missed six games for Chelsea between February and March due to injury, and he is once again set to spend a period of time on the sidelines.

The Blues are currently eighth in the Premier League, 10 points away from Aston Villa, who occupy the final Champions League spot. Liam Rosenior was sacked last week, and Calum McFarlane has taken charge of the club on an interim basis until the end of the season.

He has managed the club to an FA Cup final after beating Leeds United 1-0 in the semi-finals. The eight-time FA Cup winners will face Manchester City in the final.

Do you think Estêvão will play at the upcoming 2026 World Cup despite picking up a hamstring injury recently?
