Donyell Malen has been brilliant for AS Roma since joining on loan in January. The Dutchman signed for AS Roma from Aston Villa on a loan deal until the end of the campaign, and he has impressed so far.
The 27-year-old has played 17 games for the Italian club, scoring 12 goals and assisting three. In Malen's last four games, he has scored four, assisting two. The Dutchman has been in impressive form since arriving in Italy, and he has helped Roma sit fifth in the league table.
Roma have lost two of their last 14 in 90 minutes, as they hunt for a top four finish. The club sit three points outside of the UEFA Champions League places, with three league games remaining.
Malen joined Aston Villa in 2025, and after a season and a half with the club, he left on a loan deal. The attacker has rejuvenated his career since switching to Italy's capital, and he could make Roma look to complete a deal permanently.
The Netherlands national team squad is yet to be confirmed for the upcoming 2026 World Cup, and Malen has hit form at the right time to put himself in the conversation for a spot to represent his nation at the tournament.
He recently scored a hat-trick against Pisa, in a 3-0 win at home. The three goals proved to be the start of his recent run of form, which has been full of highs, ahead of just three league games remaining this campaign.
In Roma's second-to-last league game, they face their rivals Lazio, who are 13 points below them in the table.
Do you think Donyell Malen will sign permanently for Roma this summer?
