Donyell Malen's magnificent start to the season

Donyell Malen has been outstanding for AS Roma this season.

Malen has hit the ground running, scoring six goals in six appearances. He has played a huge part in Roma being top of Serie A after five games.

The Dutchman has netted six goals in five appearances in the league, and has picked up one assist in his only Champions League feature of the campaign.

Malen has settled in at Roma very quickly, after joining on loan in January. The goalscorer has been pivotal to the Italian side since he joined, and he will hope his great form continues.

He has two more goals than three players in Serie A, seeing him lead the golden boot race.

Roma are unbeaten after six matches this season, winning four and drawing two. They are top of Serie A due to their better goal difference of four to Inter, who are second.

Malen's best performance of the season came on matchday one, as he netted a hat-trick in Roma's 4-0 win against Fiorentina.

His record for his current club is outstanding, scoring 21 in 26 and assisting four.

But Gian Piero Gasperini's side face two difficult fixtures when they return from the international break, taking on Como and Real Madrid.

The first game is in the league, as Roma hope to remain top of the table. Then their attention will turn to the Champions League, as they host Real Madrid.
