League leaders Al-Nassr hosted AFC Champions League winners Al-Ahli last night, in a game that was a top-of-the-table clash. Al-Nassr were 10 points clear of their opponents before kick-off, while third-placed Al-Ahli were looking to close in on second-place.

Al-Nassr went into the game having won all of their previous 19, and were looking to add another match to the record. For Al-Ahli, their AFC Champions League triumph at the weekend was a huge moment in their season, and they were hoping to use the momentum from lifting a trophy to carry it into their league form.

A win for Al-Nassr would see them move eight points clear at the top of the table, but Al-Hilal would have a game in hand. Al-Ahli had the opportunity to move two points behind second-place Al-Hilal with a win against the league leaders and continue their recent impressive form.

The first half was evenly balanced between the two teams, and both sides created chances but could not find the opening goal. The scoreline at the break was 0-0 between the two in-form teams, who were hoping to secure three points in Riyadh and kick on for the remainder of the season.

The deadlock was broken in the 76th minute, through none other than Cristiano Ronaldo. A precise cross from Joao Félix found the head of CR7, who rose the highest and headed home with less than 15 minutes to go. The hosts found a crucial lead, but they were not finished there.

In the 90th minute, Kingsley Coman rifled home a shot from inside the box to seal the win for Al-Nassr and crush Al-Ahli's title hopes. The full-time result was 2-0 to Al-Nassr, who had extended their winning streak to 20 games in a row. Al-Ahli's AFC Champions League success was not transferred to the league, and they find themselves 13 points off the league leaders, with five games remaining.

Al-Nassr are the firm favourites to win the Saudi Pro League, with four games remaining. Despite Al-Hilal having five games left of their league campaign, they are eight points off the top. First-place Al-Nassr face second-place Al-Hilal on the second-to-last matchday of the league season, which could be crucial in the title race.

For Cristiano Ronaldo's team, their attention turns to Al-Qadsiah, who they play on Sunday. Al-Hilal play Al-Hazam next, and they will be hoping to close in on the league leaders, who seem unstoppable right now.

Al-Nassr find themselves in the AFC Champions League 2 final, and the club are eyeing up a double this season. How many trophies will Al-Nassr win this campaign?
