Cristiano Ronaldo hints at retirement following this season

41-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo has had one of the most illustrious football careers ever seen.

The Portuguese star is currently playing for Al-Nassr, as the club defends the Saudi Pro League title this season.

But this campaign could be Ronaldo's last in football, following an interview with Vogue.

He said, "This is probably my last year of football, and I want to leave a spectacular legacy."

CR7's contract with Al-Nassr comes to an end in the summer of '27, further strengthening the possibility of him hanging up his boots at the end of this season.

To date, he has won five Ballon d'Ors, five UEFA Champions League titles, and league titles in England, Spain, Italy and Saudi Arabia. He has also lifted two trophies with Portugal, being the 2016 Euros and the UEFA Nations League.

Cristiano is Real Madrid's all-time leading scorer with 450 goals, and is the leading goalscorer in men's international football history.

He has scored 146 goals for Portugal, putting him at the top of the list. Lionel Messi is second, 21 goals behind the Portuguese forward.

Ronaldo will be hoping to score his 1000th career goal this season, with the star forward currently sitting on 976. Just 24 goals is all he needs to reach the landmark tally.
