Luka Vušković was on loan at Bundesliga side Hamburg during the 2025/26 season, where he impressed clubs from across the world. The 19-year-old defender made 30 appearances for the German club across all competitions, scoring six goals.
The centre-back, who was on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, currently has a market value of €60 million, ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Spurs' defensive problems across the last two seasons could see them look to hold on to the Croatian defender, who has interest from elsewhere.
According to The Athletic, Brighton have submitted a £30m opening bid for the teenager, who is yet to feature in the Premier League for Spurs.
Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero's futures at the Lilywhites are in question, and Roberto de Zerbi could look to offload either one to bring Vusković into the first-team picture. The Athletic reported last week that Romero is expected to depart the club this summer, and Radu Dragusin's future with the side is also uncertain.
Vušković signed with Spurs from Hajduk Split for £12 million in 2023, but he did not officially join until last year, when he turned 18. The Croatian is part of his nation's World Cup squad, and his focus right now will be on the tournament.
Any potential transfer developments will be slowed by the competition this summer, but movement could occur following Croatia's final game, whenever that is.
Given Tottenham Hotspur's defensive problems, Luka Vušković could be viewed as a potential fix ahead of the 2026/27 season. The free signings of Marcos Senesi and Andrew Robertson will bolster the defence ahead of the next campaign, in which Spurs will be hoping to improve on their back-to-back 17th-place finishes.
After an outstanding 25/26 campaign, Vušković has proven he can play first-team football at the top level, but the big question is where he will be playing next season.
