It has been a great week for Arsenal, who extended their gap at the top of the Premier League following Manchester City's draw with Everton on Monday. The Gunners won 3-0 on Saturday against Fulham and were impressive against the fellow London side.

From their weekend win, they took the momentum of the game into their second-leg clash against Atlético Madrid, and were hoping to reach the UEFA Champions League final for the first time in 20 years.

The first leg in Madrid saw the game finish 1-1, with Viktor Gyökeres and Julián Alvarez both scoring penalties for their respective sides. This set up a huge game at the Emirates Stadium, with both teams hoping to secure their spot in the final two of the UEFA Champions League.

The first half seemed like it was going to end 0-0, until Bukayo Saka turned into a poacher inside the Atléti box. A shot saved by Jan Oblak fell inside the six-yard area and found the foot of Bukayo Saka, who directed home to give the Gunners a lead at home.

In the second 45, Atlético pushed for an equaliser but could not find one. Gyökeres had a golden opportunity to double his side's lead in the tie in the 65th-minute, but his shot sailed over the Atléti goal.

Tempers rose at the end of the game, but Arsenal booked thier spot in the final in Budapest. The huge win will no doubt give the Gunners huge amounts of momentum going into their Premier League run-in, before their UCL final clash against either Bayern Munich or PSG.

Since Saka returned from injury and started for Arsenal, he has scored twice in two games. The return of their winger has proven to be pivotal in their drive for success this season, and they hope to pick up a double at the end of the current campaign.

The club's extremely strong defence, arguably the best in the world, will be seen as the toughest possible opponent for either Bayern or PSG. While both of those attacks are world-class, Arsenal's incredibly strong defence will be hoping to cause them problems in the final in Hungary.
