Wrexham travelled to QPR on Saturday, as the Welsh Dragons looked to climb into the play-off spots with a win in the capital.

The Welsh side went into the game winning five of their last seven, with one game including an FA Cup shootout win against Premier League side Nottingham Forest. For the hosts, they were going into the game with one win from their previous seven, looking to bring an end to their disappointing recent form.

QPR started the better side, opening the scoring after six minutes. Former Chelsea man Harvey Vale netted early in the contest, to give his side a huge boost less than 10 minutes in.

Phil Parkinson's side had work to do if they were to get something out of the game, but there was still plenty of time for the Welsh Dragons to turn the match around.

At the half-time interval, Wrexham trailed 1-0.

Less than 10 minutes into the second half, Wrexham were brought level. Former Ipswich Town forward Nathan Broadhead set up Callum Doyle, who scored the equaliser. It was Doyle's first league goal of the campaign, and it was an important one if Wrexham were to win the match.

With 10 minutes to go, the third goal in the game was scored. Experienced centre-back Steve Cook put the home team in front with 10 minutes to go, in what was a huge blow to Wrexham. The Welsh side did not have long left if they were to rescue something from the match. In the 90th minute, QPR's Amadou Mbengue was sent off for a second yellow card offence, bringing the hosts down to 10-men for the remaindeer of the game.

Josh Windass scored a 93rd minute equaliser for Wrexham, with his goal seemingly securing a point for the Reds on the road. But there was still more drama...

Two minutes on from Windass' equaliser, Oliver Rathbone found the winner for Parkinson's team, who had nicked the win late at Loftus Road. The 94th-minute goal from Rathbone not only secured three points for his team but it also saw Wrexham climb to seventh in the table at the full-time whistle.
