Crystal Palace will look back at 2025 as a year which was one of the best, if not the best, year in the club's history.

The Eagles won their first-ever major trophy, which saw them lift the FA Cup against Manchester City at Wembley Stadium back in May. The cup triumph secured the Eagles a spot in a European competition for the first time in their history. The club were confirmed to play UEFA Conference League football for the 2025/26 season, and also had a date at Wembley against Liverpool in the Community Shield.

Palace lifted silverware once again at Wembley when they beat Liverpool on penalties in the Community Shield final, winning the shootout 3-2.

Despite last year's highs, the start to 2026 has been a difficult one for the club.

Firstly, club captain Marc Guéhi left Selhurst Park to complete a move to Manchester City for an initial fee of £20 million.

Manager Oliver Glasner also confirmed that he will not extend his contract with the club, and will leave at the end of the current campaign, with his contract expiring at the end of the season.

Now, striker Jean-Philippe Mateta has been heavily linked with a move away from the Eagles, with Juventus and Aston Villa interested in the Frenchman. According to Fabrizio Romano, the forward has told Palace of his desire to leave the club this window.

The club have not just struggled off the pitch, they have found difficulty on it. They were subject to one of the biggest FA Cup shocks ever, as the competition holders were defeated 2-0 by non-league Macclesfield FC.

They are also winless in their last 10 matches and are searching for their first win of the year. The Eagles face Chelsea in their next match, which is on Sunday in the Premier League.

What are your thoughts on the current situation at Crystal Palace at the moment?
