Son Heung-Min signed for LAFC last year, bringing an end to his 10-year stay with Tottenham Hotspur. The South Korea international played the second half of the MLS season with LAFC, scoring 12 goals in 13 appearances.

Son picked up four assists across his 13 matches, and he has already beaten that tally this season, just four matches into the 2026 campaign.

The 33-year-old started his 2026 campaign with a goal and a hat-trick of assists, which has been an often-occurrence for him for LAFC. He has frequently assisted his team, and in LAFC's 6-0 win against Orlando City, Son assisted five goals. Los Angeles Football Club are top of the Western Conference, winning five of their opening six league matches. They are yet to concede a league goal across their six matches in the league this season, as they prepare to take on Portland Timbers in their next match.

In the CONCACAF Champions League, LAFC are currently 3-0 up on aggregate against Mexican side Cruz Azul, and Son scored the opening goal in the tie.

The South Korean completed a $26 million (£19.6m) move to the MLS at the start of the 2025-26 season, and he has been great value for money. He has linked up with his former Spurs teammate, Hugo Lloris, at the US club, and the pair have thrived since linking up.

In total, Son has 29 goal involvements in only 24 appearances for the MLS side since joining. The 33-year-old will be hungry for silverware with LAFC, following his final game with Spurs resulting in a trophy.

LAFC look extremely strong this season, and they seem like they are the team to beat in Major League Soccer. Do you think Son will be able to help his team win the MLS Cup this year?
