Rafael Leão has confirmed he wants to leave AC Milan this summer, in search of a new challenge. The Portuguese winger moved to AC Milan in 2019 and has spent seven seasons with the club, but his time in Italy seems to be coming to an end.

After making 291 appearances for AC Milan, scoring 80 goals and assisting 65, Leão has said: "I want a new challenge out of Serie A. I follow the Premier League with great attention. If I have the opportunity to play there or in La Liga, I would be really happy."

The 26-year-old's best campaign with AC Milan was the 2022/23 season, when he scored 15 goals in 35 league games and picked up 10 assists.

Following the winger's comments, clubs across Europe and further afield will be alerted, as he will not be short of interest. With him going to the upcoming World Cup, if he performs well, teams will make a move for his signature quickly, to fend off competition.

With him saying he would best suit the Premier League or La Liga, teams from both England and Spain will be on high alert. According to Transfermarkt, Leão's transfer value is €50 million, but Milan will want to maximise a transfer fee if he is to depart this summer.

The Serie A giants will want to complete a move involving the winger as quickly as possible, to sort out a replacement for him and recoup a large transfer fee. The Portugal international was signed for €30 million from Lille, so AC Milan will likely make a profit on the winger.

The big question is, who will Rafael Leão sign for if he does leave this summer?

Arsenal have been strongly linked with multiple wingers this summer, and Leão could be added to that list. Real Madrid reportedly hold an interest in Michael Olise, which, if they pursue a deal for the Frenchman, Bayern could look to sign Leão from AC Milan.
