Southampton completed an incredible comeback last night away against Leicester City, with the Foxes finding themselves 3-0 up after 30 minutes. Divine Mukasa, Patson Daka and Abdul Fatawu were on the scoresheet for the hosts, who were looking to move three points clear of the relegation zone with a win.
In the 60th minute, the Saints trailed 3-0, but their comeback began when Ross Stewart scored their first goal in the 61st minute. Southampton left themselves with 30 minutes to score twice to get something out of the game. In the 80th minute, a win seemed out of the question, and a draw seemed unlikely at that point.
Jack Stephens netted the Saints' second of the match in the 82nd minute and had around 10 minutes to find an equaliser. Their third goal, which was the leveller, was scored in the 87th minute, just five minutes on from their second. Ryan Manning's crucial goal towards the end of the game saw Southampton bring the scoreline level, with additional time still to play.
Southampton were in the ascendancy, and there was still time for them to find the winner. Shea Charles scored in the 96th minute of the match, putting the away team in the lead in the latter stages of the game. The comeback is easily one of the best of the season, and the Saints miraculously won the game, considering the hosts were in pole position for three points.
Tonda Eckert's side are now ninth in the Championship table, after winning four of their last five in the league.
For Leicester City, it is currently a worrying time for the club. The Foxes are 21st in the table, level on points with 22nd-place Blackburn Rovers, who are in the relegation zone.
