Andy Robertson's departure from Liverpool has been confirmed after nine seasons with the club

Andy Robertson will leave Liverpool at the end of the 2025-26 season, the club has confirmed. The Scotland international joined Liverpool in 2017 from Hull City, completing a move worth around £8 million.

The left-back has lifted nine trophies since joining Liverpool, across his 373 appearances for the club. The 32-year-old, alongside Mohamed Salah, will leave the Reds on a free transfer this summer.

During the January transfer window, Robertson was heavily linked with a £5 million move to Spurs, but the transfer failed to materialise. Atlético Madrid were also interested in the experienced defender last summer, but their interest could be reinvigorated this summer, with the Scottish full-back available on a free.

Andy Robertson has spoken on his recent confirmation regarding his departure from Liverpool, and he has said:

"I've had an amazing nine years here. I think it has been well-documented, especially over the last year or so, I've had opportunities to leave and I've not taken them because of how difficult it is to leave this club. And I wouldn't change that for the world."

Across his Liverpool career, he has assisted 69 goals, and he has scored 13. Between the 2018-19 and 2022-23 seasons in the Premier League, Robertson assisted 48 times. The impressive record highlights his strength in attack, which was crucial to Liverpool's success under Jurgen Klopp.

Last season, Robertson played 33 Premier League games, out of 38, as Arne Slot lifted the Premier League title in his debut campaign with the club.

But this season, Robertson has seen his minutes reduced, following the arrival of Milos Kerkez. The Scottish defender has played 19 Premier League games for the Reds this campaign, but he has only started six of those matches.

It is now the second season in a row where Liverpool will see a full-back depart, following Trent Alexander-Arnold's move to Real Madrid last summer.
