Italian striker Fabio Borini is currently playing for League Two side Salford City. The forward has played 16 games for the Ammies, scoring twice and getting one assist.

The forward joined Chelsea from Bologna back in 2007, before permanently moving to Parma. He moved from Parma to AS Roma, then moved back to England, signing for Liverpool. He scored two league goals for Liverpool before being sent on loan to Sunderland and signed for them permanently, scoring seven league goals in two seasons.

His time came to an end in England when he moved to AC Milan back in 2018 for over €5 million, and he scored eight goals during his time with the Rossoneri.

However, he returned to England by signing with Salford City at the start of the season, seeing the experienced forward take on life in the fourth tier of English football. The attacker is frequently in matchday squads for Salford City, but he mainly features off the bench.

The Ammies are aiming to gain promotion to League One this season, with the side currently sat inside the play-offs. The Ammies have lost two of their last three in the league, facing Manchester City in their next match. Their game against City is at the Etihad Stadium and is in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Borini's experience of playing at the top level will be crucial for the club, who suffered a disappointing 8-0 defeat the last time they played Man City, which was last season.

Fabio Borini made one appearance for Italy, which was against the USA back in 2012. The United States were 1-0 winners, with Clint Dempsey's second-half strike separating the two nations.
