Senne Lammens Voted Premier League Signing of the Season

Manchester United signed Senne Lammens during the last summer window, with the Belgian joining from Royal Antwerp, for an initial fee of £18.2m. The 23-year-old made his debut at Old Trafford against Sunderland back in October, and he helped the Red Devils to their first clean sheet of the season.

The Belgian has been extremely impressive since signing for Manchester United, keeping eight clean sheets in 32 Premier League appearances. In those fixtures, he made 79 saves, coming to the rescue for the Reds on multiple occasions. In the league, he conceded 39 goals across his 32 games.

The goalkeeping position was a concern following David de Gea's departure, but Lammens has brought calm and stability to the defensive unit since joining from Antwerp.

Senne Lammens was voted as the Premier League Signing of the Season in the 2025/26 awards, showcasing how crucial he has been to the Red Devils since joining.

The 23-year-old faced competition from seven other players for the award: Adrien Truffert, Antoine Semenyo, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Granit Xhaka, Viktor Gyökeres, Rayan Cherki, and João Pedro.

Since signing, Lammens has played 32 games in the league, avoiding defeat in 28 of those clashes. His addition has been clear to see to the Red Devils, and the 23-year-old seems to be money well spent so far.

Manchester United's goalkeeper spot has been described as the most difficult position to play in the Premier League. But Lammens has endured the pressure and used it as a strength since signing.

Reports have recently circulated that both André Onana and Altay Bayındır could leave Manchester United this summer, which would see Lammens face fresh competition.

Some of the rumoured names to join Manchester United are Leeds United's Karl Darlow and Wolves' Sam Johnstone, with both keepers available on free transfers.
