Salah scores hat-trick in Trabzonspor win vs Galatasaray

Mo Salah was at the heart of Trabzonspor's 4-0 win against Galatasaray at the weekend.

The Egyptian King scored a hat-trick for Trabzonspor against defending champions Galatasaray, as his side secured a huge win before the international break.

It took Salah just four minutes to get on the scoresheet against Galatasaray, giving Trabzonspor an early lead. A lightning-fast counterattack from the hosts saw Salah through one-on-one early doors, before coolly slotting home past Galatasaray's Ugurcan Cakir.

In the 39th minute, the hosts doubled their lead, as Salah assisted Noah Saviolo. Saviolo's first-time strike was low and hard into the bottom corner, and his side were 2-0 up.

Just before half-time, Salah scored his second of the game in the 44th minute, putting Trabzonspor three goals clear of the champions. Franculino squared the ball to Salah inside the box, who slotted home into the right-hand side of the goal, and the home side were in dreamland.

Trabzonspor were in dreamland against Galatasaray, who were looking at their first Süper Lig defeat of the season.

With 10 minutes left, Salah sealed his hat-trick, wrapping up a top evening for his side. The 34-year-old now has nine goal involvements in eight appearances for Trabzonspor.

Galatasaray's evening was made even worse in the 87th minute, as Lesley Ugochukwu received a red card, meaning the away side were finishing the game with 10-men.

In the Süper Lig, Trabzonspor are seventh in the table, level on points with sixth-place Fenerbahce. Salah is the league's joint-top goalscorer, level with Amedspor's Gift Orban, with the pair both scoring seven so far.

Galatasaray are second due to goal difference, with newly promoted side Amedspor top of the league.
