Nuno Espírito Santo will remain as West Ham United's head coach

West Ham United suffered relegation to the EFL Championship on the final day of the Premier League season, despite winning 3-0 against Leeds United. Tottenham Hotspur's 1-0 win at home against Everton sent the Hammers down to the second tier of English football for the first time in 14 years.

In recent days, rumours have circulated about Nuno's future with the football club and whether he would continue as head coach. The Portuguese boss will remain at the football club for next season, the Hammers have confirmed.

Nuno has had experience in the EFL Championship before, when he was manager of Wolves. He helped get the club promoted to the Premier League, and he will be hoping to do the same with West Ham United.

After Nuno Espírito Santo's future has been confirmed, West Ham will now hope to look to secure certain players' futures at the club. The big question will be around Jarrod Bowen, who will not be short of interest this summer. Matheus Fernandes has interest from Arsenal and Manchester United, and reports have stated he has told West Ham he wants to leave this summer.

While West Ham United will have to sell players to balance their books, they will also have one of the biggest budgets in the EFL Championship, going into next season. The main aim of the football club will be to bounce back at the first time of asking to the Premier League, but it won't be easy.

West Ham keeping Nuno is a huge statement of intent from the football club, as they look to get back in the Premier League as quickly as possible. The Portuguese boss would not have been short of offers either this summer, had he departed the London Stadium.
