Marc-André ter Stegen has completed a loan move to Girona until the end of the season. The 33-year-old goalkeeper has sealed a six-month loan to the Whites and Reds, who are mid-table in La Liga.

Ter Stegen has been with Barcelona for 12 years, after joining the club back in 2014 from Borussia Mönchengladbach. During his time with the Catalan club, he has made 423 appearances, keeping 176 clean sheets.

This season, the German goalkeeper has only made one appearance for Barça, which came in the Copa del Rey against CD Guadalajara. The defending La Liga champions won the game 2-0, and Ter Stegen kept a clean sheet. But he has only played one match this season, with Joan García and Wojciech Szczęsny being favoured over him.

At the start of the season, a back injury saw the keeper sidelined, which saw him drop down the pecking order of goalkeepers at the club. This has ultimately led to his loan move to Girona.

In Girona's most recent match, they took on Espanyol and won 2-0. Vladyslav Vanat took two penalties in the game and scored both of them. Girona have hit a good run of form, winning all of their last three. In their last five matches, they have won four and lost one, suffering defeat to Atlético Madrid.

The next league game for Girona is against Getafe on 26 January. Do you think that Marc-Andre ter Stegen will play against Getafe for his new club?
