EFL League One side Bradford City have confirmed the loan signing of Manchester United's Ethan Wheatley until the end of the season. The 20-year-old spent the first half of the campaign on loan at fellow League One side Northampton Town, where he scored three goals and assisted three, in 23 league appearances.
The young forward was an important player for the Cobblers, who will miss his presence going into the second half of the season.
Promotion-chasing Bradford City have now made four signings during this winter window, with all of their transfers being loan deals. The Bantams sit high in the League One table, occupying third position.
The club were promoted out of League Two last season after finishing third, thanks to a dramatic last-gasp winner on the final day to seal their promotion. The Yorkshire club are looking to go back-to-back and jump up to the Championship this season.
Ethan Wheatley has played in the EFL both this season and last season, as he spent the second half of last campaign with Walsall, who missed out on promotion to League One. The United loanee made four appearances for the Saddlers, but he did not score in any of those appearances.
Now, he will be joining a high-flying football club who have won 13 of their league games this season, with the Bantams sitting fifth in the table. Although Bradford are high up in the table, they have only won one of their last five.
How many goals do you think Ethan Wheatley will score for the side?
