Manchester United linked with two left-backs

Manchester United have completed the signings of Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Karl Darlow this summer, but their business might not be completed yet.
The Red Devils have recently been linked with two Premier League left-backs. One is Newcastle United's Lewis Hall, and the other is Arsenal's Myles Lewis-Skelly. With Man United playing in the UEFA Champions League this season, squad depth will be critical, and they are looking to strengthen defensively.
Lewis Hall is reportedly open to a move away from St. James' Park, but with numerous big departures from the Magpies this summer, the Geordie side will demand a big fee. Newcastle reportedly want £65m to part ways with Lewis Hall this summer, which could price Michael Carrick's side out of a move.
Another left-back option for the Red Devils is Myles Lewis-Skelly. The Arsenal defender played 36 games last season, playing in all of Arsenal's final six matches. The teenager ended the season in the Arsenal team, but he had to endure lengthy spells on the bench at the start of 2026.
United have reportedly held interest in the 19-year-old for some time, and they could look to complete a deal if the Gunners sign Bruno Guimaraes. Lewis-Skelly's versatility in defence and midfield could see the Red Devils make a move, with them also linked with a third midfield signing.
Michael Carrick's side are still on the hunt to strengthen before their season kicks off against Hull City, but the club will want to be smart with any incomings over the coming weeks.
The prospect of Champions League football will make the move to Old Trafford more appealing for both Hall and Lewis-Skelly, with the pair good enough to play on the world's biggest stage.
