Karim Adeyemi completes €22m move to Barcelona

24-year-old Karim Adeyemi has completed a €22m move from Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona. The German has penned a five-year deal with the Catalan side, who have strengthened in attacking areas this summer.

Alongside Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi has signed for the reigning La Liga champions, who could also look to reignite their interest in Marcus Rashford towards the latter stages of the transfer window.

During Adeyemi's time at Dortmund, he featured 146 times across all competitions, scoring 36 and assisting 25. He joined the club in 2022 from RB Salzburg, completing a €30m move. Last season, Adeyemi scored seven league goals in 28 appearances and scored three goals in the UEFA Champions League.

The German's versatility across the front three will be a huge help to Barça this season, strengthening their whole front line and providing an additional option on the left and right wings, and as a striker.

Adeyemi could make his competitive debut for Barça against Elche away from home, on the opening weekend of the La Liga season.

The coup is a brilliant bit of business from Barcelona, who have completed the signing of a 24-year-old who has huge potential for the coming seasons. The German striker will be filling big boots this summer, as Robert Lewandowski departed the club following four seasons in Spain.
