Cambridge United hosted Swindon Town this evening in a top-of-the-table match in League Two. The U's were fourth prior to kick-off, while the Robins were fifth. Only two points separated the pair in the league, and the match was crucial to both sides' promotion pushes.

While Swindon were unbeaten in their three matches before the game against Cambridge, they had only won one of their six matches before those three fixtures.

For the hosts, they went into the game off the back of a loss against Barnet, which ended a nine-game unbeaten run. Across the last five months, Cambridge have lost only two league games, showcasing their strength in League Two matches.

The U's also have the best home record in the division, picking up 44 points from 19 fixtures at the Abbey Stadium. They were looking to make it 47 points from 20 matches when they faced Swindon Town.

The deadlock was broken by the hosts, as former Manchester City forward Ben Knight netted his ninth of the season, to put the U's ahead with 21 minutes on the clock. The goal was crucial in the clash, and at half-time, Cambridge United were in the lead, taking a 1-0 advantage into the second half.

The second 45 was crucial to both sides, with the U's having the upper hand. In the 90th minute, Cambridge United were 1-0 up. But disaster struck for them in the 91st minute.

James Gibbons, who assisted the opening goal, scored an own goal to bring the game level. The late drama was the last of the action in the match, with both sides taking home a point. It was a deflating late blow for Cambridge United, although they have climbed to third in the league.

For Swindon Town, they currently find themselves two points outside of the top three, with five games remaining.
