Bayern Munich renew four key players' contracts

Bayern Munich are top of the Bundesliga, sitting on 41 points from 15 matches. Vincent Kompany's side have won 13 of their 15 league games played. Borussia Dortmund are second in the table, nine points behind the leaders.

Bayern have brought their fans a late Christmas present by announcing that four key players have renewed their contracts with the club.

Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala, Joshua Kimmich and Manuel Neuer have all extended their contract with the German giants.

Both Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala have renewed their contracts until 2030, penning a four-and-a-half-year deal, while Manuel Neuer has signed a six-month contract with the club, at the age of 39.

Joshua Kimmich has also extended his contract with Bayern, with his new deal valid until June 2029, signing a new three-and-a-half-year deal.

With interest from other European clubs in both Davies, Kimmich and Musiala, the extensions of contracts will be a huge boost to Kompany's side, who have started the season tremendously.

Bayern have only suffered one loss all campaign, which was against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League. The reigning German champions are second in the European competition, three points behind first-place Arsenal.

The next time Bayern Munich are in action is next year on January 11th, when they host Wolfsburg, who are 14th in the Bundesliga.

Their next Champions League game comes against Union Saint-Gilloise on January 21st.

Kompany's side have a chaotic return to football however, as they will play on the 11th, 14th and 17th of January, before playing in the Champions League four days later.
